November 10. Conflict in marriage is natural but if it remains unaddressed and ends in divorce it is a loss on many fronts, for each spouse and especially too for their children. Reasons for break-down vary and individual careers is an important one. When men and women become successful in their careers there can be a risk to their relationship as they become caught up in their own lives, put a greater value on their career and possibly lose out on importance of their relationships with their spouse, their families and with God.    

The Lord of all will not stand in awe of anyone, nor show deference to greatness because he himself made both small and great and he takes thought for all alike. Wisdom 6:1-11.   Pope Francis:  Dialogue is essential for experiencing, expressing and fostering love in marriage and family life. AL136.  Divorce is an evil and the increasing number of divorces is very troubling. Our most important pastoral task with regard to families is to strengthen their love, helping to heal wounds and work to prevent the spread of this drama of our times. AL246.  A spirituality which forgets God as all-powerful and Creator is not acceptable. We end up worshipping earthly powers or ourselves usurping the place of God, even to the point of claiming an unlimited right to trample his creation underfoot. LS 75.   Reflect, share, act and pray
