October 5.   “Crime and violence seem to come over us in waves,” the J&P coordinator shared. “Corruption has been a great concern that just doesn’t seem to get resolved.  It is particularly shocking how much corruption, which is really criminality, has surrounded us during the COVID-19 period, not even to speak of the July unrest and looting in parts of the country. Gender-based violence also continues and we keep expecting the police and the government to take action.  But shouldn’t all our work as missionary disciples be to preach conversion in relationships as well as ecological conversion to everyone?

Jonah proclaimed to Nineveh,  “in forty days Nineveh shall be overthrown.”   Tidings reached the king and he proclaimed “let man and beast be covered with sackcloth and let them cry mightily to God, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence which is in his hands.  Jonah 3:1-10.   Pope Francis: In calling to mind the figure of St Francis we come to realise that a healthy relationship with creation is one dimension of overall personal conversion, which entails the recognition of our errors, sins, faults and failures and leads to heartfelt repentance and desire to change. Reflect, share, act and pray.    What do I need to repent from at this time?
