October 27.  The parish had started a group for young children, the Masolenyana.  It was also called the Little Soldiers of Christ.  They liked their colourful uniform especially when one of the leaders suggested it was like their armour for God. “If the devil sees you dressed like that he will definitely run away,” she said.  Paula’s mom laughed a bit about that but realised it was a way of teaching about good and evil to the children in addition to what they did at home.

Scripture:  Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  Eph 6:10-20.  Pope Francis:  Education in the faith has to adapt to each child. Children need symbols, actions and stories. Moments of family prayer and acts of devotion can be more powerful for evangelisation than any catechism class or sermon.  AL 288. The human person grows more, matures more and is sanctified more to the extent that he or she enters into relationships, going out from themselves to live in communion with God, with others and with all creatures.
