October 3. Dad asked,  “Now that we have spent these weeks on our eco-safari and read the story of the Good Samaritan how can we each relate to it in our lives today.”  Each one thought for a while.  Pauline said, “I have been touched by the plight of the poor and homeless. I can go through my cupboard and sort out some clothes to share with the homeless families. We could go with the St Vincent de Paul to visit a shelter.” Michael thought about the man who had been attacked and shared how he wanted to help the injured. Melody wanted to look after injured animals as she had seen on their journey.  Each family member shared their own intention.

Scripture:   A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell among robbers who stripped him and beat him and departed leaving him half dead.  Read Luke 10:25-37. Pope Francis: we must regain the conviction that we need one another, that we have a shared responsibility for others and the world and that being good and decent are worth it.  We have had enough of immorality and the mockery of ethics, goodness, faith and honesty.   LS229
