August 7th. Sunday 19C.   Infertility.  Fr Thabo had been asked to include the topic of infertility in his homily for the occasion. “Our family theme for this month is dealing with sexuality as a gift. There are many aspects to consider and infertility is one that can be easier for some couples then for others to discuss.  Sometimes men don’t want to even address the possibility that the reason lies with them. Sex in marriage should be natural and open to life, but there are an increasing number of couples who have difficulty conceiving.  Prayer and faith may suggest different options to them as Abraham and Sarah experienced.  Together they should discern well into different possible approaches and make the most life-giving decisions in conscience.

By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive even when she was past the age.  From Hebrews 11:1-2,8-12 . Pope Francis:  The technological revolution in the field of human procreation has introduced the ability to manipulate the reproductive act, make it independent of the sexual relationship between a man and a woman. Let us not fall into the sin of trying to replace the Creator.  AL 56.
