May 26. The managing director’s door was always open to the workers from any department.  They could come to him with any problems and he would listen, give advice where he could and sometimes more than that.   At night, as Charles in his other role as husband and father, would go home to his wife Dorothy and share with her some of the stories he had heard.  They would pray together and thank God that although they had experienced a really bad time when their son had been on drugs and after years of struggling with that he had died of an overdose.   This experience had given them empathy with other hurting parents.

Whoever would be great among you must be your servant and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all, for the Son of man also came not to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.  Mark 10: 32-45.

Pope Francis:  Friends and other families are part of a larger family who support one another in their difficulties.  This larger family should provide love and support to teenage mothers, children without parents, single mothers left to raise children persons with disabilities needing particular affection, young struggling with addiction, the unmarried, separate or widowed who are alone, the elderly and inform who lack the support of their children.  It should also embrace even those who have made a shipwreck of their lives. AL197.   Mary, support and pray for all parents in need.
