November 6.  All SAINTS OF AFRICA.  Bryan had invited the Missionaries of Africa to address a deanery gathering. He introduced them saying, “You can in a way represent all the saints of Africa, St Augustine, the missionaries, martyrs like the Uganda martyrs, slaves like St Josephine Bakhita and very many catechists who spread the gospel throughout the centuries. Please share their story with us.  Many men and women have died for their faith and sadly many are still being killed in parts of the continent, but the Christian faith is strong and growing in parishes, small Christian communities and families do incorporate their faith in their culture. Let us thank God for that special gift.”

Let us bring Christ to Africa and Africa to Christ.”  Jubilee.  We know that the Letter to the Romans marked a decisive turning point in his work of evangelization. Until then, he had carried out his activity in the eastern part of the Empire, but now he turns to Rome and all that Rome meant in the eyes of the world. Before him lay a great challenge, which he took up for the sake of preaching the Gospel, which knows no barriers or confines. The Church of Rome was not founded by Paul, yet he felt impelled to hasten there in order to bring to everyone the Gospel of Jesus Christ, crucified and risen from the dead, a message of hope that fulfils the ancient promises, leads to glory, and, grounded in love, does not disappoint.
