Easter 3A.  SEE.  Fr Fidelis started by saying, “The Emmaus story must be a favourite for many people and there are so many little nuances.  There was Jesus walking with the two persons, were they men or maybe even a couple, their not recognising him at first and their excitement when they did, his remaining to share a meal with them and being their teacher.  I suggest that maybe in your own families when you read this story you could share what it is that each of you found most meaningful. For me personally it is Jesus himself being their teacher.   He must have been an amazing teacher and family catechesis invites us all to work at this, in, by and for the family.”     

JUDGE. Scripture. While the two were talking Jesus himself drew near and went with them, but their eyes were kept from recognizing him. The Church offers herself as a family among families open to bearing witness in today’s work, open to faith, hope and love for the Lord and for those whom he loves with a preferential love, to build bridges, break down walls, to sow seeds of reconciliation. Pope Leo:  Pope Francis recalled that education has always been one of the highest expressions of Christian charity.  Yours is a mission full of obstacles as well as joy.  A mission of love because you cannot teach without loving.   DT 87  Reflect, share and act, pray.
