February 10.  There is no doubt that Jesus was able to perform miracles of many kinds.  “What is a miracle?” Tracy asked her children.  “Feeding all of us every day with so little money and even inviting the other family down the road to join us too!.”  “I think that keeping the feeding scheme going in that refugee camp is a miracle too.”  “And what about my work at the animal shelter?” They shared their thoughts on the subject. At times their own generosity and the willingness to share their own meagre supplies is a little miracle too. The point is that Jesus acted out of compassion for people in need and didn’t perform miracles just to show what he could do.

Reflect, share, Scripture:  I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. If I send them away hungry to their homes they will faint on the way.”  Mk 8:1-10  Pope Francis:  Jesus introduces uds to the works of mercy in his preaching so that we can know whether or not we are living as his disciples. Let us rediscover the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.  MV 15.  Pray: for compassion, generosity and willingness to take part in feeding the hungry. Choose appropriate action.
