October 5.  Mrs Paulson had been contributing to a soup kitchen once a week for some time for people coming to their parish.  She suggested,  “Why don’t we go together to visit St Therese, our twin parish, to see how they are able to cater for all the people that come to them.  An inner-city parish is different to our suburban parish. Maybe we can learn and contribute something there as a family to show our concern and love for the poor.

Scripture:   ”When you pray say,   “Our Father, give us today our daily bread.”  From Luke 11:1-4.   Pope Francis: Developing the created world in a prudent way is the best way of caring for it, as this means that we ourselves become the instrument used by God to bring out the potential which he himself inscribed in things. The Lord created medicines out of the earth, and a sensible man will not despise them. (Sir 38:4)   LS 124. Before all else the gospel invites us to respond to the God of love, who saves us, to see God in others and to go forth from ourselves to seek the good of others. If this invitation does not radiate attractively the edifice of the Church’s moral teaching, it risks becoming a house of cards.  EG39.
