February 6. Sunday 5C.  Jesus said, “do not be afraid: henceforth you will be catching people.” The parish marriage and family team were planning a special liturgical event involving married couples for the upcoming World Marriage Day on the 2nd Sunday of February, to focus on the value of good marriages.  But they were finding the response not what they were hoping for. “Couples don’t seem to be very interested.  Are we doing this the right way, or planning the wrong kind of event?” James asked, so they gathered to pray about it. “Why don’t we open it up wider and make it ‘Marriage Moments, past, present and future.’  That way we can involve everyone as after all marriage isn’t only for couples but for the whole Church.”  Becoming an eco-friendly family: Research and share which animal families operate as “married couples.”

Jesus said to Simon, “Put out in the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And they enclosed a great shoal of fish. They were astonished but Jesus said, “do not be afraid: henceforth you will be catching people.” Luke 5:1-11. Pope Francis: The main contribution to the pastoral care of families is offered by the parish which is the family of families where SCCs and groups live in harmony. Pastoral outreach aimed at families shows a need for more adequate formation of priests, deacons, men and women religious, catechists and other pastoral workers. AL 202-3
