February 7.    Solomon. “I have built you an exalted house, a place for you to dwell in for ever.” During these last two years when churches were closed for many months some parishes made great efforts to promote the family, as the domestic church of the home, as surely a place where God is present as well as in the big church.  Some prepared home liturgies and encouraged families to build a home altar and gather for prayer. Portia said, “But it isn’t only when we pray together but also when we play and stay and work and eat, and fight and make up, that we know God is here with us.”  George added, “I think it is the love in our home and every sign of goodness and beauty anywhere that are signs of God’s presence.” Becoming an eco-friendly family: Spend some moments together appreciating God’s presence in family harmony and pray for one another.  

When the priests came out of the holy place a cloud filled the house of the Lord, and the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord. Solomon said, ‘I have built you an exalted house, a place for you to dwell in for ever.” 1 Kings 8:9-13 Pope Francis.  To sense each creature singing the hymn of its existence is to live joyfully in God’s love and hope.  We can say that alongside revelation in sacred Scripture, there is a divine manifestation in the blaze of the sun and the fall of night. The spirituality of family love is made up of thousands of small but real gestures.  In that variety of gifts and encounters which deepen communion God has his dwelling place.  This mutual concern brings together the human and the divine.  AL 315
