September 28. As the family was coming near to the end of their eco-safari they shared.  “We have travelled far and wide and seen and experienced many new things.  Through seeing goodness and beauty but also simplicity and poverty I have become much more aware of the greatness of God, “ Pauline said.  Mom replied, “That is partly why we thought of this idea of going on this safari.  And it wasn’t just to see, but also to discuss and share  and grow in our family communication.”  Dad added. “I suppose all of those did work, do you agree? I am enjoying the story of Job where he argues with his friends, and even tries to argue with God, but recognises God is greater than he could possibly imagine. I think that fits in well with what we were doing.” All the children agreed they’d had a great time.  

Scripture:  Job said, Who will say to God, “What are you doing?  How then can I answer him, choosing my words with him?  Though I am innocent I cannot answer him. I must appeal for mercy to my accuser (Satan).” From Job 9:1-16    Pope Francis:  In union with all creatures we journey through this land seeking God, for if the world has a beginning and if it has been created we must enquire who gave it this beginning and who was its creator.  LS244. Each year sees the disappearance of thousands of plant and animal species which we will never know, which our children will never see because they have been lost for ever mainly for reasons related to human activity.   Because of us they will no longer give glory to God by their very existence, nor convey their message to us.   We have no such right.  LS33

ECO-TIP AND PRAYER:  Creation is God’s message to us. We can use our senses to experience the beautiful and the good, the ugly and the bad.  Pray with an awareness of the senses to hear God’s call to conversion.   Glory be ……
