November 25. 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER VIOLENCE. Bryan was collaborating with the local J&P groups to highlight this important aspect of loss.  The 16 day campaign every year from 25 November to 10th December is an opportunity to create awareness, dialogue and share, for many organisations but also for men and women, at home, school and work. The issue is not equality but a loss, the physical, emotional and psychological abuse experienced as loss of personhood, of self-esteem. Treating women and children as objects, rather than human beings with value and dignity is a loss for a perpetrator and a victim. We are all created in the image of God but not all treated with the same respect.  The right attitude should be taught and modelled at home. The human person is the clearest reflection of God’s presence in the world; all of the Church’s work in pursuit of both justice and peace is designed to protect and promote the dignity of every person.  For each person not only reflects God but is the expression of God’s creative work and the meaning of Christ’s redemptive ministry.  The Challenge of Peace #15.  Jubilee. 8. The first sign of hope should be the desire for peace in our world, which once more finds itself immersed in the tragedy of war. Heedless of the horrors of the past, humanity is confronting yet another ordeal, as many peoples are prey to brutality and violence.
