January 30.   “Is it good or bad to have or keep secrets?”  That was not such a simple question. As important it is that  the truth needs to be told, there are times when it is necessary to protect someone’s reputation from harm.   In politics as we have seen, there is much lying and fraud that needs to be brought to light.  But whistle-blowers, for their own safety may have to act in secret and sometimes even keep secrets.

Reflect, share. Scripture:  Jesus said, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under a bed and not on a stand?  For there is nothing hidden except to be made manifest, nor is anything secret except to come to light. Mk 4:21-25.   Pope Francis:  JUBILEE In our journey towards the Jubilee, Scripture speaks to us, “May we who have taken refuge in him be strongly encouraged to seize the hope set before us, a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters the inner shrine behind the curtain, where Jesus, a forerunner on our behalf, has entered” (Heb 6:18- 20).. The storms that buffet us will never prevail, for we are firmly anchored in the hope which transcends life’s fleeting pleasures and the achievement of our immediate goals. It makes us rise above our trials and difficulties, and inspires us to keep pressing forward, never losing sight of the grandeur of the heavenly goal to which we have been called.  Jubilee 2025. 25.  Pray:  For an end to corruption and crime and a increase in trust and integrity. Choose appropriate action.
