August 5.  Introducing the topic for group discussion Rayhab said, “In a talk I went to recently it was stressed that good leadership is not based on positional power or status.   Just because you are the CEO or a manager you might be given some deference but are you really a leader?  In politics and business men are still mostly in leadership.   In churchy matters women might be in the majority in caring for the parish needs, visiting the sick and belonging to sodalities, but when it comes to leadership e.g. on the PPC it is changing but we do still find a higher proportion of men.  But remember the issue of leadership has cultural aspects and perceptions too that we need to take into consideration. (I’m in the Pilanesberg for a few days, catching up with God and Creation. In the heart of each person, hope dwells as the desire and expectation of good things to come, despite our not knowing what the future may bring. Even so, uncertainty about the future may at times give rise to conflicting feelings, ranging from confident trust to apprehensiveness, from serenity to anxiety, from firm conviction to hesitation and doubt.
