July 24.  God’s presence. Granny Lerato talked sometimes about her dreams, seeing and hearing God and also remembering her dream when she wakes up. “That’s weird,” her granddaughter said, “and scary too. I don’t know that I would want to experience that.”  “Dreams are part of our culture you know, ”Granny explained. Others shared how they feel God’s presence in prayer, sometimes in the beauty of nature or its awesome forces and in the closeness of relationships, even when there are difficulties there. “The important thing is to be open to God, remember that God is present.  In that way we can really grow to love God more and learn to listen to his voice.”   

Scripture: The Lord said to Moses, “Behold I am coming to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe you for ever.”  Exodus 19:9-10.  Pope Francis. Family prayer is a special way of expressing and strengthening faith.  A few minutes each day, a few simple words, asking for help in showing love, giving thanks for life and blessings and asking Our Lady for her protection. AL 318  An expression of attentiveness to God is when we stop and give thanks to God before and after meals.  This beautiful custom, a moment of blessing reminds us of our dependence on God for life.  LS 227   JUBILEE/DN 16 : The heart of Jesus, living and present, our mind, enlightened by the Spirit, grows in the understanding of his words and our will is moved to put them into practice.  Only the heart is capable of setting our other powers and passions, and our entire person, in a stance of reverence and loving obedience before the Lord.
