June 26.  “’We used to sing a song about the wise man and the rock at home in the olden days when we did pray and read the Bible together,” Neal said.  “It was actually nice then, but I don’t know if that would work now with you young people, except maybe on special occasions.  Apart from that we’re all so busy with work, homework, working out at the gym and, ironically, attending self-development workshops. I hardly have any idea what each of our family members think about the burning issues in the world and also our own and the bigger environment.  I can’t help but wonder, “Who thinks our house is built on rock or sand or can it be partly on rock? But with all the climate disasters these days and massive landslides after fires even rocks don’t seem to be secure.

Rom 15:13), so that we may bear credible and attractive witness to the faith and love that dwell in our hearts; that our faith may be joyful and our charity enthusiastic; and that each of us may be able to offer a smile, a small gesture of friendship, a kind look, a ready ear, a good deed, in the knowledge that, in the spirit of Jesus, these can become, for those who receive them, rich seeds of hope.
