Over the years Jeannette had tried hard to build a relationship with her daughters-in-law. “This isn’t easy in our African families today as the younger generation does not appear to have the same respect we had for our elders. So it was when, “as he walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers… and as he went from there, he saw two other brothers” (Mt 4:18, 21). Many a page of the Gospel illustrates how attentive Jesus was to individuals and above all to their problems and needs. Precisely out of concern for us, Jesus knows every one of our good intentions and small acts of charity.   DN 39-41.
