Anthony stated quite forcibly, “I think that couples should have a greater role to play in church as couples.  Almost everywhere you find married people as individuals, as catechists,  Eucharistic ministers or PPC members.  Even sitting in church and going up for the collection is not done as families. You may find couples doing marriage preparation, teaching Natural Family Planning or parenting skills, but shouldn’t it be a normal thing for them to be a couple in any ministry? When we did our Marriage Encounter weekend that was the kind of message we took home and it really meant something.“ Some agreed, while others in the parish thought that was a crazy idea.
