January 29.  Andrew had instilled in both his children a deep concern for the environment. He told them, “People have farmed almost since the beginning of time but nature did look after itself.  Loss of biodiversity resulting in irreplaceable changes in ecosystems is one of the issues resulting from commercial farming and climate change factors today.” Julian agreed, “Science needs to study the benefits and disadvantages of today’s approach towards nature.”  

Jesus said to the crowd,  “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed upon the ground and should sleep and rise night and day and the seed should sprout and grow he knows not how.  The earth produces of itself.  Mark 4:26-34.

Pope Francis:   We can say that alongside revelation in sacred scripture there is a divine manifestation in the blaze of the sun and the fall of night.  By paying attention we learn to see ourselves in relation to all other creatures.
