July 11. Sunday 15B.   Fr Brian decided that in his homilies he would focus strongly on the letter to the Ephesians for the next few weeks because he liked to see it as a mini-catechism, a guidebook for daily living. “It begins with a greeting, a blessing from God to us and from us to God. Isn’t that interesting?  But it is especially important to recognise that we have been chosen from all time. Think about that from a family angle. You have been chosen to belong as a grandparent, a parent to your child and as child to your parent as well as husband and wife? How does that make you feel?  But do not forget that there is a predetermined plan for the whole of creation.”   

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing even as he chose us before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.  He has made known to us in all wisdom and insight the mystery of his will which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fulness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and on earth.  From Eph1:3-10. 

Pope Francis:  The Trinity is a communion of love and the family is its living reflection.  The creatures of this world no longer appear to us under merely natural guise because the risen One is mysteriously holding them to himself and directing them towards fulness as their end.  The very flowers of the field and the birds which his human eyes contemplated are now imbued with his radiant presence.  LS100
