April 12. Easter 2A. Divine Mercy Sunday. SEE.  Fr Joseph had been a keen supporter of the Divine Mercy devotion and he loved having an opportunity on this Sunday to share with the congregation.  He held up the well-known Mercy picture and told the people. “St Faustina  had received many visions of Jesus.  He revealed to her a particular message of the mercy of God.  He gave St Faustina three ways of showing mercy towards our neighbour: by deed, word and by prayer. Mercy towards others is proof of our love for Jesus and glorifies him. Can you see this important connection?” he asked. “Talk about this at home and discuss examples even small ones of how you have been able to show mercy.” Patricia thought about what she wanted to share. “Flora, our domestic worker, is just like part of our family. The other day I saw she wasn’t feeling well when she doing the ironing, so I offered to help her. She was so happy. But I didn’t tell mom, I thought she might be cross.” 

JUDGE.. Scripture:  “Put your finger here and see my hands and put your hand and place it in my side; do not be faithless but believe.”  Thomas answered, “My Lord and my God.” John 20:19-31.   All who believed were together and had all things in common; and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all. as any had need. Day by day attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes they partook of food with glad and generous hearts. From  Acts 4:42-47. Pope Francis: The Church is called above all to be a credible witness to mercy, professing it and living it as the core of the revelation of Jesus Christ. FM 25. .  Pope Leo: The peace of the risen Jesus is unarmed, because his was an unarmed struggle in the midst of concrete historical, political and social circumstances. Christians must together bear prophetic witness to this. The parable of the Last Judgement invites us all to act with mercy in this awareness.   PM 1 Jan.  Reflect, share and act, pray.  Consider the implications of mercy together with peace.
